![]() Maybe newer DAW's handle this better, but I found way bad in the days of Performer (pre-digital) that changing the time signature after notes were there caused undesirable effects. Mute the scratch track when it's no longer helpful. Then edit in the time signature changes where appropriate. ![]() ![]() Record a scratch part, whatever instrument/part gives the best cues as to where you are in the tune. The easiest way to set it up is to just start with 4/4 and set the click to not stress 1. I'd be dumbfounded if it didn't have something so basic. Logic is not only full-featured, it's fuller-featured than most. Any full-featured DAW has to support time-sig or tempo changes anywhere in the song.
